#1 | | Guest | Any help would be appreciated, because I did a dumb move.
My v60s phone dropped, cracked and isn't working, but I'm not due for a
phone 'upgrade' until November...so I happen to buy a v60p on the
internet that was used.
When I took the v60p into the Verizon store they said that they
couldn't activate it with my phone # & plan because I wasn't on a "Push
to talk Plan" (which I don't want to do, expensive).
Does anyone know how I can try to activate it myself?
Now, of course, due to my lack of cellular phone knowledge, I've wasted
my money on a v60p, that I'm hoping someone might know how to activate.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

happens or call *611
and ask a rep there to do it.

#4 | | Guest | You can long on to VZW and go to MY Account.
Once there you will find a place where you can
type in the phone's ESN. You probably will
have to remove your battery to look for it.
Sometimes is in bot HEX and Decimal, but
either will work. Luck

Thank you so very much for your advice! It worked AND I can't believe
that the Verizon Wireless Store Reps all told me that Verizon "would
NOT allow the v60p phone to be programmed/activated without a PTT
plan"...which would have meant a big increase in my plan... then I find
out from you guys you can do it yourself so simply on the web. I feel
Verizon is running a scam in regards to this...they then told me that
only v60S phones are now allowed to be activated on Verizon. I feel
like they lied and are running a scam of sorts.
Thanks again!

#7 | | Guest | While it might have worked, the reps, the agents, et all are forbidden from
putting a ptt phone onto a non-ptt plan. If a new activation, they would
reverse the commission as well. If you found a work around, better for you.
But no one scammed you; you just found a way to do something on your own, a
"crack" in vzw's on-line system that allowed you to do something that
employees/agents/cs were not allowed to do. Imagine that, an inconsistent
set of policy, messages, and tools from verizon. Hah. dr
