I picked up a used Verizon LG VX10 that I was going to activate on my
Verizon account but when the phone powers on, it comes up locked. The only
call possible is to 911-- and that includes sending *228 to
reprogram....gotta have that lock code to send the call.
I assume the lock code is the last four digits of the existing phone
number-- but I don't know what it is-- and can't access it.
I tried the obvious codes like 0000, 1234 and 4321, 1111, etc. Other than
try all 9999 possible lock codes sequentially, is there any way to do a
"Vulcan mind wipe" to clear it out?

Bring it into a Verizon service center and I'm sure they can help...
assuming the phone can even be activated.

Re: Wipe lock code from phone
Menu -> 0 is the standard LG programming mode. In my 4400, I think
that bypasses the lock code.
In the programming menu, there is a reset lock code option, where you
enter the phone's mater subsidy lock (usually 6 zeroes with verizon).
Once you *228, however, remember that it changes your lock code to your
phone number.

Go to Verizon and have them reset it when they activate it.
