Okay , I had a friends who's phone was trashed. I bought him a used phone
on eBay , you could get yours anywhere. It was a phone used on verizon
network previously. He called verizon and had the phone activated on his
account. He was a year away from getting a new phone on his contract. He got
a newer phone and did not have to extend his plan.
I on the other hand have the old pre-pay plan for verizon , and have
never purchased a phone from them. The old Free-Up plan was great for people
that just needed a phone and didn't want a plan. Buy a thirty dollar card
and it was good for sixty days. That's fifteen dollars a month for a cell
phone.
