Did Verizon Disable Voice Dialing?

It seems like Verizon disabled voice dialing on the 6700. Is that true?
Why in the world would they do something so stupid? So, to make a
call, you have to open up the pda's case, and use the onscreen dialing?
That is utterly stupid.

Is there a way around this?

To make money on their voice dial services.

Re: Did Verizon Disable Voice Dialing?

Thanks Tee Shot. I'll have to try it, I guess. It should arrive in a
day or two. I'm glad to hear that feature is included. It really didn't
make a shred of sense to me that they would take that feature out of
such an advanced piece of equipment.

How do you like the 6700? Is there anything you love? Anything you
hate? Anything they left out???

Re: Did Verizon Disable Voice Dialing?

I think you misunderstood. Voice dialing does not come with the 6700.
Voice Command that I refer to is a Microsoft program. Go here
http://microsoft.handango.com/Platfo...roductId=90635

Love the phone and still learning everything it will do. I had the Treo 650
and this is way far above that.

Thanks Tee.
I just looked it up and it says that it does not support initiating a
call using a BlueTooth device. Is that true? How do you make it
recognize a voice command? Still have to take the phone out of the case?

Re: Did Verizon Disable Voice Dialing?

Can't answer that as I don't use a BT headset. I've got built in BT in my
Acura and it contains it's own voice dialing. I do recall seeing some
mention of hacks to the registry that will allow voice command with BT, but
can't say anything about something I haven't tried.

Re: Did Verizon Disable Voice Dialing?

Awsome! I knew there had to be a way around it. If there's anybody out
there who already knows where to find this hack info, please post it.
I'll look for it meanwhile. I will have it for a 15 day trial, and I
want to make sure I know everything I need to know.

Re: Did Verizon Disable Voice Dialing?

Well, 15 seconds later, look what I found:

Activate MS Voice Command via Bluetooth (HTC WM5.0 Devices)
>From HowardForums PocketPC Wiki

You must have Microsoft Voice Command installed to use this hack. Open
up a registry entry program such as Resco Registry that comes with
Resco Explorer 2005. Then goto
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path ". Change the default
value from "\Windows\SDDialer.exe" to "\Program Files\Voice
Command\VoiceCMD.exe". Now you should be able to activate Micrsoft
Voice Command by pressing the connect button on your bluetooth headset.

I will; try this as soon as I can and let everyone know how it works.
