EVDO access from both phone & laptop?

I've got a Treo700 with the unlimited data plan. Does anyone know if it is
possible to use the same access from both the phone & a laptop (obviously
not simultaneously)?

Alternatively, could I transfer the data plan so that I remove access from
the Treo and add it through an aircard?

Thanks!

Interesting! Putting up with the tether beats buying an aircard, that's for
sure.

Thanks, Dave.

Re: EVDO access from both phone & laptop?

Dave - Ok, I've downloaded the software and it indeed works, but it requires
the activesync software, which bumps me into another limit. It seems that
you can only have 2 activesync profiles on the Treo700. It won't let you
add the third.

I currently sync calendars & contacts with two different computers. I was
hoping to use the tether & software from my laptop, which I DON'T currently
sync with. I can only get it to work if I delete one of the existing
profiles and then create a new one for the laptop.

So, I think I'm back to the aircard idea, and my original question, which
was "Can I use my existing Verizon data access from a device other than my
treo700?"

What do you think?

Re: EVDO access from both phone & laptop?

That's what I thought. I wonder if they would let me just disable EVDO on
the Treo and then activate it on an aircard without changing my plan - it's
really not that big of a deal for me to have access on the phone. Guess
I'll give them a call and see what's up. I'll post their response here.

Thanks!

That, you can do. You can swap the ESN from your current device to the
new one via their web site, and the new device is active within minutes.

Dave - I just bought a treo 700w with the unlimited Data plan. Isn't
it possible to use bluetooth connection from your laptop to the treo
and use its EVDO access to get internect connection from your laptop?

Not "officially" without paying more $$ for the tethering feature.

However, see http://www.junefabrics.com/pdanet/
