Need advice on setting up International call forwarding

I have my own business in N.J. and work from home.

I frequently travel to Central America and check my msgs.on my
answering machine back home.

I would like to be able to receive my calls forwarded to me from my
business at home to my location in Central America to give the
"illusion" that I am actually in my office and not on vacation. I
would guess that with VOIP the costs wouldn't be too expensive any
more.

I would appreciate any information on this as well as recommendations
for any web sites or books which are up to date and which give advice
on how to set up this and other types of telecommunication
arrangements.

Thanks,

Sy

A couple of quick ideas. (I have no affiliation with any of them)

Tomatovine (.com) or vonage (.com) have voip adapters that you can
connect to pretty much any broadband service (IE: ethernet in a hotel).
You could foreward the call from your office# to this when you're away
from home, then receiver the call in your hotel on a landline. (or
simply have your current office# transferred to them)

Another idea, is got-vmail. This is an answering machine that will
convert voicemail to MP3 and convert faxes to PDF's and email them to
you. Then you could receive either on a blackberry or whatever.

If you want to tie your cell into VOIP at your home computer, you
might find

helpful.
