Bluetooth Headsets

I am sorry to place this topic out here again, but I have seen and head
a lot of conflicting information on experiences with bluetooth headsets.
I thought I had determined that Plantronics seemed to be better and
Jabra not all that great ... with Motorola somewhere in the middle
(problems with volume). But I also read of several people that have had
good experiences now with Motorola. Asking again for experiences.

Jabra BT250v works great.

I just got a Moto H500 to go with my PEBL, and it seems to be a good product,
but I've only had it for a day...

I believe the phone/headset combination can be a factor.
For example Plantronics tend to crackle a lot with a treo 650.
Seems that Cardo Scalas work very well with the treo 650.
Maybe not with other phones? There are a number of additional
points that people evaluate on. Pairing, voice quality in and out,
earpiece volume, fit and feel, and operation of functions.

So it seems that you need to narrow the question to
"experiences with bluetooth headsets *with this phone*"
since the answer may differ.

Well ... in that case, I'll go with the combo of a bluetooth headset
with the Motorola Razr.

I purchased the Plantronics 640 yesterday. Haven't used it yet ... now
need to get to Verizon to get the the phone. No matter where I looked on
the internet ... here, howardforums.com, cnet.com, epinions.com, etc. I
consistently found more positive experiences and reviews with the 640 in
terms of the loudness (perhaps due to the earbud). My only regret is
there is a new 645 (can't find it at any retail outlets yet) that has
digital signal processing over and above the 640. If I have problems
with the 640, I will just return it and wait for the 645.

Thanks for everyone's help.

I have a Motorola E815. Tried the Motorola H500 headset. I needed a
little more volume. (This depends on the fit. For me, the earpiece is
a little high, not covering my ear canal.) I also had complaints from
the other end of a lot of road noise. Two people used the word
"distortion".

Switched to the Motorola H700. Much louder audio when listening. Less
echoing and road noise when talking.

The above observations are consistent with what I read on cnet. com and
zdnet.com.

Re: Bluetooth Headsets

It's what works for you. I had the Motorola and it was had to hear from
in my car. Went to jabra and it was louder. Depends on how much hearing
loss one has. and the phone its connected to.

I should clarify that I was only comparing the H500 and H700.
