Will the Chocolate play through the car stereo? and other basic Chocolate questions

My contract with Verizon is up, and they've been pretty good to me. I'm
thinking about getting the LG Chocolate solely for its mp3
capabilities. I'm posting this because I've been unable to find the
answers to my basic questions.

1. Will the Chocolate play through your car stereo like an iPod would?

2. Do you have to purchase a separate flash card to store more than 20
songs like you would with a Kyocera Slider Remix?

3. Can someone explain to me in the simplest of terms how you would
download songs? Could you do it through your iTunes or would you have
to go through an Easyedge/GetItNow type deal?

Thank you

no, there's no FM adaptable transmitter that will fit the Chocolate.

...there's half a gig of available ram for songs. Probably can store
about 100 songs before you have to get an external micro sandisk card.

the easiest way is to get Verizon's music kit. It connects via USB to
your PC. From there, you run the supplied software to push the songs
to the phone. The software can also be used to push wallpaper and
ring tones. Of course, you can use the freeware software "Bitpim" but
you still need to buy the cable anyway so it's just better to get the
entire music kit and use it's software.

True, but an increasing number of car stereos are being equipped with
Bluetooth. If that's the case, you could connect the Chocolate to your
car stereo the same way one connects a wireless headset.

You can also check to see if there's any sort of patch cable that can
plug into the stereo's CD changer input. My Pioneer has one that
terminates in a pair of RCA plugs, and I plugged an RCA-to-headphone
cable into that. I can therefore run any device with a headphone jack
through my stereo, which I do with my PDA (nav or music). It's a great
solution, if you've got the equipment that supports it and a little
knowhow.

Good reply, but I find with my VX8300 that Bluetooth works very well -
provided that the user has Bluetooth available on the PC.

Nice call! It is interesting to me that Verizon is slowly, but surely,
eliminating their lock-out of BT features that were in place two years
ago; and making it possible for users to access the entirety of the
native features on their phones.

The customer appears to be over-riding the Verizon accountants, lawyers,
and business managers!

If you are behind the times in your car like me and only have a cassette
player in your car, you can get a cassette adapter at VZW and plug your
phone into your cassette deck. The only problem with the LG-specific
cassette adapter is that you can't charge the phone whle you're playing
through it (it plugs directly into the charger/headset port), so I got a
jack 3.5->2.5 jack adapter for my old cassette adapter that I was using
to play from my Palm, and a dual charger/headset dongle from VZW so that
I can play and charge at the same time. Great sound. Also, I am using
the LG Bluetooth Stereo lanyard headset (love it) so I can control
playback and answer/make calls while my phone is plugged into the
cassette deck.
