#1 | | Guest | I've read the faq several times and still don't quite understand how they
are charging for this
I understand the 1.99 fee is waived if you maintain an online acc, it's the
part about text message and airtime charges that I don't get. Am I charged
airtime to access backup assistant via my phone? Where does the text message
charge come in?

Yes-- and 15 centavos on your monthly bill-- unless you buy a text bundle.
My advice is unless your phone book changes frequently, turn off the auto
backup feature and do it yourself manually. If you do it on the weekend or
after 9:00 PM local, you won't burn airtime. | | | |

Where do you do this? All I can find is a place to change
the time of the auto back up, but no place to turn it off.
Perhaps related . . . I have mine set for early AM backup
(between midnight and O'dark thirty) but the phone tries to
connect and back up at random times during the day (10 am,
2:30 pm, etc.).
I'm wondering if I should just dump the software from both
phone and online, and start fresh?

#4 | | Guest | I know it was listed in the Faq, how to turn it off, via the web page, in
fact when I first entered the web page, it was the first thing listed on the
opening page

#6 | | Guest | Delete the software and try Bitpim. If it works with your phone it'll do
everything the VSW software does.... free

I second that... bitpim is pretty good, just need a connection between
computer and phone. I use a cheap USB-bluetooth that I plug into my
puter.
