Lets see.
A web site gvies away free information on how to improve the coding of
a web page to give the iPhone special deals and a special display as
they handshake with the mobile HTML request.
.
They do not get any benefit from a user adding this simple code to
their existing web page.

This web site is going to make a ton of money somehow giving away
intellectual property just like open source folks do.

Yeah right.

Fox News, ABC News, Amazon.com and hundreds of other sites have
already implemented this code for the Apple browser in order to give
us special deals or an easy to view display formated for a 3.5 inch
screen.

Perhaps you do not want others to follow these leading web sites and
so lose out on driving millions of iPhones to their web site too?

I for one like the fact I can view Amazon through a special iPhone
portal or I can toggle over to the classic Amazon PC web page and view
that with a few extra taps on the screen. I like the fact I get
freebies and such by using the iPhone as opposed to using the PC or an
pold fashioned PDA to look up information when I am out and about. It
is a pleasant experience that makes using the iPhone even more fun and
practical. I like the special treatment I got at Starbucks today (free
coffee) and from AT&T when I forgot my password to my account (a
simple question and then instant access). AT&T Wi-Fi service is great!

BTW Sprints new iPhone killer, the INSTINCT, doesn't even have Wi-Fi
like the iPhone!

Samsung and Sprint forgot to include the Wi-Fi radio!


New Sprint users that are just discovering that are not happy campers.
Heh it is Sprint; too bad - so sad... ROTFL.

Verizon's CEO gave a speech where he decried the 'iPhone conspiracy'
and he hoped Steve Jobs would die soon. ROTFL.

Again, you already posted this last week. Slow iPhone news day? Or do you
just post anything you read with "iPhone" in it and can't remember what you
posted previously?

Gold Medal Flour doesn't get any direct "benefit" from the apple pie recipe
they print on the side of the bag except goodwill and customer loyalty.

Did you browse over to "services?"


They sell their Microsite development tool kit for $998 (Hurry! Regular
price is $1298!)

Or they'll turn your pre-existing mobile website into an iPhone Microsite
for $100-300/hour (depending on dificulty level.)

All all Apple users this easy to impress, or just you? Do you realy think
the concept of a device-specific mobile formatted site is new or nesworthy?

No, I think mobile-formatted sites are good things. We discussed this when
ou posted the same nonsense LAST WEEK.

Yeah, that's how Amazon's mobile sites have worked for, oh, as long as
they've usde them. At least four or five years, I'd guess..

Which has nothing to do with you repeatedly shiling the services of "iPhone
Microsites LLC." There were iPhone-formatted mobile sites before these
guys started selling tools, or development and consulting services.

And this was all made possible by iPhone Microsites LLC's $425/hour
webdesign services, or have we wandered off-topic?

They didn't "forget." While I'd rather have WiFi than not have it, it's
certainly less necessary on a 3G phone than a 2G phone, particularly on a
network with good 3G deployment.

Why? Sprint users get unlimited 3G for half the price of AT&T users, and
Sprint's $69 plan includes voice, 3G, mobile TV, messaging, and turn-by-
turn navigation. $69 on AT&T gets you voice, 3G, and Google Maps' "follow
the bouncing ball."

And again, you miss the point of the Instinct (or other iPhone "killers.")
There is no replacement for the iPhone amongst the Apple fans or the
fashionistas. However, a considerable number of US consumers shop carrier
first, device second, putting things like coverage, monthly rates, etc.
ahead of how cool or powerful their phone is. For THOSE people- the ones
who'd never switch from Verizon or Sprint to AT&T for whatever reason- is
who the Instinct and Voyager, etc. are for. Neither Samsung nor Sprint
intend to woo the guy planning to camp out in front of the AT&T store the
night before release day..
