Fixed EasyGPRS problem by uninstalling extra modem

Problem:
Trying to use Samsung's EasyGPRS software to send ring tones from PC to
phone using Infrared connection, often the program failed to find the phone
(even though the PC recognized it was connected).

Solution:
After making sure to select the correct port, install IR "modem" which is
necessary for some reason, etc, I found some online forum suggesting to
check for extra modems installed and my cluttered Dell PC had a dialup modem
installed (even though I don't use it, never did). I uninstalled the modem
under Device Manager and it works perfectly. Had to "deactivate" again
later, as it likes to reinstall itself.

Hopefully this will help someone else, and not jinx me now that I have
declared the problem to be fixed.
