Cingular emails

Hi all,

Me and my friend have just started messaging each other on our phones.
Because she is on Cingular (in the US) and I'm on vodafone (in the UK)
according to the information on the Cingular website it isn't possible to
send a text to my vodafone. So, we've been sending them to our phone email
addresses, which works. But do emails count as text messages? As Cingular
mentioned the cost of outgoing and incoming text messages internationally
( 20cents ), but doesn't show any price for emails.

Can someone tell me what/if the cost of sending / receiving an email from a
Cingular, US phone to a vodafone, UK ?
