Coverage for brit: should I buy a new phone or just stick with my 1900mhz triband?

Dear All,

I'm visitin California for quite a period this summer.

I need to know whether its worth me spending $30 to buy a Samsung
850mhz/1900mhz handset from Cingular (pay as you go), or just take
along my Sony Ericsson phone that operates 800mhz, 900mhz and 1900mhz
GSM?

I'm refering to coverage. Will my 1900mhz phone provide sufficient
coverage, or should I invest in the other handset instead?

Many thanks,

IZoneIZ

Your phone covers both bands used here, 800 and 1900. So unless you
find yourself in an area where all gsm carriers on both bands have
roaming problems with your carrier, you should not have too much trouble
aside from charges.
