Coverage in Reno, Nevada?

Inquiring for a friend who just moved to Reno, NV 89509, 6056 Plumas St.
His Verizon phone does not work well there. Any suggestions for other
carriers?

Also the old AT&T system (no Cingular) covers Reno just fine.
