My apologies for the cross posting. This is a message that I beleive needs
to get out to as many people as possible.

Beware of FRAUDULENT BILLING PRACTICES at Bell Mobility.
They will rack up charges to your account that even they can't decipher, and
then drag their heels when you demand an accounting.
Then lo and behold 90 days elapses and they tell you "sorry, you only have
90 days to dispute these charges, they can't be reversed.
If you continue to complain, and dispute charges...they simply cancel your
account, but not before hitting you with a $199.00 cancellation fee !
Of course then they threaten to ruin your credit by sending the account to
collection if you don't just shut up and pay.
Here's what I have to say to Bell Mobility. You are nothing but Fraud
    artists preying on innocent consumers.
If any of you reading this post are Canadians, and are considering a Cell
Phone purchase.....Do Not...and I repeat Do Not go anywhere near Bell
    Mobility
You will pay dearly for inferior service, incompetant customer service
personel, and arrogant management. In short you will get screwed by them.
Take your business to someone else....anybody else but Do Not deal with Bell
Canada in any way shape or form.
Perhaps we as consumers can show companies such as Bell that we will not
continue to fill their coffers with our hard earned money while they
continue to give us the shaft.

While I hate all this cross-posting, I feel that a bit of balance is called for
    here.

I have been a Bell Mobility subscriber continuously since 1991, and have
basically had no problems (show me any service provider that does not give you
ANY problems over a 14-year period, and I'll tell you that this exists only in
    Lala-land).

I have heard as many complaints about other mobile service providers as I have
    about Bell Mobility.
(Some people hate RONA and love Home Depot - others feel just the other way. .)

However, the above seems like a rather far-fetched rant, and I would love to see
    documented proof of all that.

I have to agree that something weird is up....I switched from a regular 440
a month service to the pay as you go $10 a month plan, where I buy thime
each month at any convenience store ($25/every 2 months now)....
What I noticed immediately is how often my calls get dropped, and I have to
dial back and it's another 35 cents dinged...I'm guessing when a regular $50
a month customer needs a line and they are full, a pay as you go customer
like me gets dropped to free up a line.
Also, I check my balance (unused funds roll over each month and it can be,
say $23.55 today, and I dont use the phone for a week, chack it again, and
    it's somehow down to $19.20...and I don't have any extra features....of
    course, they deny it all.

The problem isn't the actual phone service, its the CUSTOMER service. It's
the worse customer service that I have ever dealt with. This is across the
board at Bell, whether it be for Mobility, Satellite, Telephone or even in
person at a Bell World store.

Once you have a billing problem , a defective modem, or some other reason to
call for repair/install etc..etc..anything that is outside the norm of
ordering a service (paying THEM money) . YOU WILL FIND OUT RIGHT AWAY how
    poor the service is.

Re: Fraudulent Billing Practices at Bell Mobility

My father had a bell Mo. contract that came due on April 16 2005. Just as
April 16 hits, his phone does not work anymore, cant place calls, or
recieve. I played around with it, and i saw that, when i would power off
the phone, and power it on, i was able to make a call with in the first 30
seconds, then i would lose antenna signal, and the call would drop and phone
    went to emergency only mode.
So i called Bell, and they said its the phone that is having problems, to
take it in to one of thier stores, and they would take a look at the phone.
I get there, waited 1 hour to be served, then get a 20 year old girl is
trying to sell us a new phone and package. They had no idea how to look at
    my dad's phone.
All my dad wanted was to continue his phone package , monthly, without
signing on to a new contract. So, i realized the game they were playing,
shutting off phones that were at the end of the 2 year contract, so you
would go for an upgrade and sign on for another 2 or 3 years. I call Bell
again, threatend them i would switch carrier if they didnt stop messing with
the phone, and they didnt care.
Well, i wasn't gonna fall in that trap, i took him to FIDO, and got him a
phone and contract , and he is saving money too and is very happy. Called
bell, canceled the phone line, since it was at the end of the 2 years, no
penalties. 3 days later, someone from Bell calls, begging to not cancel,
offering all kinds of deals just to stick around. Told them its too late and
    hung up.
All i can say is that all these huge corporations are sneaky, and they can
play you. They know you can hardly prove your allegations of them using bad
business relations that they use with the customers. The only way to hurt
them back is to talk about it, and cancel the contract and move on to
someone else that would shower you with gifts to get you. Then, cancel again
and move on to another. Make them work to get your money.

    Thats my 2 cents!

You're an idiot plain & simple. Probably delusional, incompetent and a pussy
to boot. Now get back and finish the ironing before your

Most cell phones are "locked down" to one service via a card or password and
cannot be used elsewhere unless it has been "released". Some cell phone
companies will do this for you but will charge you about $2-300 for this
    service.

Unless the phone is guaranteed unlocked and usable on any service forget
    it...not worth it.

There are cracks and equipment and services to unlock such but they can be
    expensive also.
