Can I revive an old Nokia 8210?

I have an old phone I no longer use that is a Nokia 8210 that I got from
AT&T. I want to give it to my son who has lost his T-Mobile cell phone.
Will it work to transfer his T-Mobile number to the old Nokia?

Thank you.

Truth is I don't know what model I have. It looks like a 8210. I spoke to
T-Mobile and they say it might work and to bring it in to one of their
company owned stores... My experience with the stores is that in general
the staff doesn't know more than I do, and they are more interested in
selling new customers. We'll see.

Thanks for your assistance.

It's the Nokia 8260. The guy at the T-Mobile store said it wouldn't work
because it doesn't use a SIM chip. He didn't seem very knowledgeable, but
he talked me into a new Nokia 6010 for $39 plus contract extension. I
opted for a solution instead of the answer(?)
