Data cable DB9 to DB25 will it work ?

Hello there.

Can someone please help with the following. I have a data cable for
connecting my mobile phone to my PC.

The end of the cable for connecting to the PC is a RS232 DB9 Connector,
but I do not have a this type of connector on the back of my PC.

I am finding it hard to find a converter for a RS232 DB9 to a USB, but
I can get my hands on a RS232 DB9 to a RS232 DB25 Connector (which I
believe is the printer port) will this still transfer the data okay ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm sure the printer port will be a parallel one, so no !!!.
