It's not an unreasonable request, actually. Ask me how the reception is in
Apple Valley, and I can tell you that it's good in town, but as you come
east towards the town line you'll eventually hit the end of coverage, unless
you're on a major highway.

For larger cities, it would be helpful (and sometimes necessary) to specify
which part of the city.
