Your coverage will be very poor. Even though they use Sprint's network,
unlike Sprint they do not allow roaming onto other CDMA networks in
areas where Sprint has no coverage (which is a lot of areas). Also no
AMPS roaming.
It's simply a poor choice for prepaid because of coverage issues. If
you're never going to go outside a Sprint area then it's okay, but most
people need the ability to roam.

Re: Sti Mobile Opinions?
Grif,
There is a lot of the country where STI, and Sprint, work just fine. After
having all kinds of different prepaid options, STI ranks right up there.
Within most populated areas of our state, Sprint is just fine. I hate
having minutes that expire and being forced to re-up every 90 days (not even
3 months!).
So far, STI's service has been 100%. Everything has worked as expected. I
won't know if the rebate arrives for several months, but so far there have
been no surprises. the rate is good, Sprint is as good as I can expect,
they cover more than the map shows. I am thrilled the phone I got (free
after rebate) has NO camera. I do not like the fact that it has no external
antenna, but we'll see if that means anything at that frequency...T-Mobile
and Cingular are living with it. The phone CAN roam, I was able to 'force'
mine to Verizon at 850 MHz (digital), but I have yet to make a roaming
call...or need to.
STI offers local numbers almost everywhere, some don't. The STI agent that
set me up was knowledgeable. The genius of a mail-in rebate is that you may
think you're signing up anonymously, but then they have you name and
address...not a big deal.
Downside? they charge .10/minute extra to access your voicemail on your STI
phone...free by landline.
Pluses? So far, they haven't charged me for SMS (Text Messaging) In or Out.
Thumbs Up.
