That depends on where you are and what plan you have. I'm on a regional
plan (SC/NC) and upgraded the PRL just to answer this message because it
had been a long time. It reports PRL 1205, now, on this plan.
Which plan do you have?

JoshIII reply:
Its a Motorola v120 (TracFone). Alltel is its home
network. I activated it just last week.
I haven't figured out how to update the PRL yet?
When I type in *228, a display message
pops up on the screen "activation start?"
Choices are No - Yes, but either option
produces a PRL update error, and the darn
phone never makes the call to update.
I guess I need to call TracFone customer
service about it.
The current PRL is 6262. I am
pretty sure this was the PRL that was
in the phone when I opened the box, so
the 6262 may not be an Alltel PRL.
I'm certain my home carrier is Alltel by the
SID and announcement when I dial 411.
The current range of Alltel PRLs for
trimode phones (regardless of plan) is
1100-1500?
Thanks for the response!

You're right....It's a tracfone PRL so it will use all the different
systems it encounters they've paid to use.
STOP SCREWING WITH IT AND JUST USE IT!
Noone is going to upgrade a PRL not theirs.
