I have had only one blue tooth phone, and setting it up to sync with my
PC was a pain. Now, I'm looking for a phon for Verizon, and just want
something that will easily communicate with my PDA (PocketPC). Can
anyone with experience please post advice? I don't know if I need blue
tooth, as I don't plan on getting a wireless headset. I just need the
phone to send and receive phone contacts and images as well, and do it
fairly easily. It would be nice if it could also receive ring tones
    (midi, mp3, ?)

    Thanks in advance.

No question: choose Bluetooth. It's faster, works from further away,
doesn't need you to align the two devices, and uses less power. Sending
images over IR will take forever, and you can forget about MP3 files
unless you're very, very patient. Bluetooth is also a bit more
future-proof - you might find later on that you'd like a headset, or
Bluetooth dongle for your PC/Mac (so you can sync that with the PDA and
phone). Spend a little more now, and save in time and future
    flexibility.

Thanks for the advice. I've just been reading about how bluetooth on
Verizon phones is generally limited to use of headsets. No transfer of
images or anything else, no syncing? What's with that?
OK, if this is the case, I don't want to spark a discussion of their
reasons, just to know if it's true. If it's not, I am open to
recommendations by heavy bluetooth users :-). Otherwise, then I
definitely need an IR enabled phone. Can someone give me a link that
lists phones by features and carriers?

    Thanks again!!!

www.phonescoop.com lets you find phones by features and carrier.

Thanks for that link. I've discovered that the best bluetooth enabled
phonr for Verizon is the Nokia 6255 and 6256. However, they are both
still more pricey than I wanted, even on ebay, so I may just get one
and settle for cheaper phones for the family. Any other sources apart
from ebay that sell cell phones? Wow, that sounds like a toungue
twister: "She sells cell phones, cells she sure sells..."
