Nice phone for sure ..

Dont care much about the method of transmission on a phone unless it
directly
affects me ... Even though the phone has high marks it still suffers
from
the one
thing that has vexed ppc users from day one .. namely it has a
differant
cpu, as
usual .. sigh .

What does this mean to you .. Well look up OMAP850 applications on the
net.
There doesn't seem to be any. All PPC programs have to be compiled for
the
CPU, this I know too well after having 3 PPC's. If the phone is not
available
easily then will application makers consider modifying thier programs
to run
on
it ? That .. is the million dollar question.

The built in apps work for a while but for me its a nogo compared to
always
backwards compatible palm apps. I use my phone for a myriad of apps
and
the phone clarity is fine for me. It could have better coverage in the
mountains
true, but I can still use an older dual band for that in an emergency
for a
price,
without a contract or service plan.

Additionally I can't overstress the importance of having categories in
the
memo
pad, calander, in fact almost everything else. Having used mine for
storing
tons
of information and having it searchable in seconds in any app, phone
contacts,
memo pad etc. etc. I am quite spoiled on the palm. I only need to mark
items
entered better.

PPC does not categorize anything and has no recursive directories
which I
find
hard to believe to this day. As for categories I doubt it (PPC) will
ever
have that
due to its "marriage" to outlook which does not support categories.

As for the keyboard and typing .. I'll race ya when ya get yours ;-)

Seems like a very good phone with the ever loving shortcomings of MS's
lack
of control over mfg's cpu selection. I just like to run older programs
on it
that
have been watered down in new releases.

Not knocking it as is, but expandability software wise seems limited
at the
moment
and perhaps forever due to all the apps that come with the phone. Palm
has
MUCH
better 3rd party PIM's and games than those that come with the 8125. A
better biz
phone imo. The 8125 looks okay for multimedia , however I hear that
movies
play
very slow on it. My ipaq plays them real time very well. As for the
palm,
its not why
I bought it lol.

The bashing from ex-Treo users doesn't phase me, but the phone does
score
higher than the Treo 650 (GSM).
