Can the service provider I am with effect the games I can download?

I have a Motorola V360v on Vodaphone, but I find that there are far
fewer java games avialable for it than the identical V360. Is this
because it is locked to Vodaphone? If so if I got it unlocked could I
use the V360 games? Would be very grateful if anyone could provide the
answer.
