I am looking for a backdoor number for voicemail for the 203-767-XXXX
number in the Bridgeport, CT area. Does anyone know the number or how
to find out what it is? I wish to be able to call for messages from a
landline phone without having the phone ring. I called Verizon and they
told me there is no alternate number. I don't believe them. Personally
I checked to see what number my cell dials when I press *86 though in
the call history it won't show the number. I'd greatly appreciate a
    solution to this situation.

As far as I know, Verizon has been phasing out all backdoor numbers, and by
now there probably are none that are active anymore.

Just found this in a thread elsewhere. Maybe it will help if you have speed
dial capabilities. It was a response to what to do after dialing your cell
number and hitting the * key:

    > Perhaps I have a different VM system...but after getting the same

My suspicion is that those number only work when dialed from a cell phone
    now.
