Can PagePlus activates any Verizon wireless phones, or just the prepaid?

Hello, I am looking into prepaid cellular service. I currently do not
use a cellular phone but would like to get one for emergency calling.

I have been following threads on PagePlus and am just wondering if any
Verizon wireless phones can be activated by them, or does it have to be
phones for Verizon prepaid.

For instance, the Motorola RAZR 3m (CMDA) phone is available for
Verizon wireless but not for the prepaid plan.

I know some CDMA phones can be expensive by themselves, but am just
wondering.

You can use any Verizon phone provided the ESN has been released. Sometimes
they hang onto them for months. If you buy off ebay, check the ESN with Page
Plus before you bid. So far, the Inpulse phones at Walmart and Target have
not been registered with Verizon so they will work with Page Plus. But it
might be a good idea to check the ESN with Page Plus before you cut open the
blister pack.

If you are willing to spend $10/month, Amp'd Prepaid is a better deal.
10c/minute and lots of features including high speed web. It uses the
Verizon network just like PP. You can get a great Moto E816 for $135 w
coupon. Supposedly, the Razr is coming.

Amp'd Mobile looks fine also. Its webpage and PagePlus's are just two
extremes, :-).

I am looking at the WalMart webpages. There is three prepaid cellular
phones for Verizon. Each says the following:

"This phone can only be activated on Verizon Wireless prepay service
during the first six months after activation and cannot be used with
any other carrier's wireless service"

Wonder if anyone has picked up one of the Verizon prepaid phones from
WalMart and activated it successfully with PagePlus?

Yes the "Inpulse" brand prepaid phones (available
at Walmart) can be purchased and activated with
Page Plus Cellular. Inpulse phones use the Verizon
network exclusively.

Procedure:
Purchase the Inpulse brand and model phone you want
from Walmart. Take it home, call Page Plus Cellular
before you open the package, and ask them if the ESN
(shown on the outside of the box) can be activated with
them.

If they say yes, then go to eBay and purchase the Page
Plus activation kits for $10 (including 100 minutes airtime).

Then activate the phone with Page Plus, and start enjoying
a cellphone with the excellent Verizon coverage for
$3 / month (minimum).

The hard part is finding the activation kits for less than
$25 on eBay. Others have said they are readily available
on eBay. Just go to eBay and search for "Page Plus activation"
or "Page Plus". You can get the activation kit, including
100 minutes airtime off eBay for $10.

BTW, the Amp'd Prepaid Moto E816 (Hollywood) is now $49 after rebate! The
main page does not list it but that's what you'll see when you order. Act
fast, they will not keep it that way.

Any phone. I've activated a V276pp from Target, as well as an older V60s
that was on Verizon postpaid.

As someone else said, the ESN needs to be released by Verizon, but on
the prepaid phones that haven't been activated the ESN was never secured
by them.
