Amazing cell phone stuff, pass it on:

    1. The worldwide emergency number is 112 and it even works if the
keypad is locked! It searches for any network's emergency number.

    2. Locked your keys in the car? Have a remote? Call home, hold your
cell phone 1 foot away from the car, have them press their unlock
botton at their phone, and it should work!

    3. Cell battery low? If expecting a call or need to make a call, this
could save your life: Nokia phones have a secret reserve battery: press
*3370# and it will restart with a reserve, giving a 50% increase in
battery level. It recharges automatically when you recharge the
    regular battery.

    4. How to disable your stolen mobile phone: Check your mobile serial
number, dial *#06# and a 15 digit code appears. write it down, if the
    phone is stolen,
you can call the provider and they can block it, even i they change the
    simcard, it will be useless.

5 (not yet verified) You can cook an egg in 65 minutes, sitting it
between 2 cell phones, one that dialed the other.

    har!

No it doesn't!!! It calls 112.

Very funny! I sure hope that someome tries that. Don't forget to have
someone whistling in you exhaust pipe meanwhile

No such extra hidden battery! The old Nokia code turns on half rate
    sound on older Nokias.

That's the very well known IMEI code.

It works, but only on Sundays when it's a full moon.

You mean that the other "codes" are verified??? Extremely funny!

Re: Amazing cell phone tricks (BOGUS - SORRY...)

Sorry, they are bogus! Well, at least number 1 and number 2 are
definitely false. I got them from Art Bell, I should have checked
first!!! Number 3 I don't have that phone, number 4 is true. Number
5 was in the news in the last couple of days, somebody in Russia showed
this, but that's only 1 watt at the most.....

Only generates a busy signal on Alltel...no code shows at all. If it was
    an attempt to dump my cell, that didn't work, either....(c;

Maybe it only works on simcard phones, not CDMA.

Don't CDMA phones have ESN (Electronic Serial Numbers) instead of IMEI
    numbers?

As you said, however, the *#06# is a GSM thing- it doesn't work on CDMA
    or TDMA phones.
