Calls from a disconnected phone?

I have an old Cingular TDMA phone. The account was canceled over a year
ago and the number was ported to Verizon. Today I powered up the phone
and made 2 successful test calls (one was an international!). Calls
showed my Verizon ANI.

Has anyone else experienced it? Can Cingular send me a bill? Can this
be related to a $2 overpay refund check that CIngular sent me when the
account was terminated? I never bothered to cash it...

Prolly should look for a bill from Verizon? That's my uneducated
guess.

I don't know. I do know that the next interesting thing to try to
do is to phone your number from another Cingular phone and see which
phone rings.
