What carrier is better to get a pay as you go phone? I want to get my
daughter a phone but I'm not sure which carrier is best.

    PagePlus is the best.

Check out T-Mobiles Pre-paid, along with their $100.00 one time Gold
    card. THE BEST IMHO.

I agree. For your daughter there is no better value than T-Mobile's
    "T-Mobile 2 Go."

Just check the coverage first, at the places she's likely to need to use
it. In California, T-Mobile's network is not nearly as good as
Cingular's or Verizon's in terms of coverage, especially suburban coverage.
