Today I spoke with an ATT Rep and was told no more Cingular. Existing
Cingular will fall under the name AT&T as will SBC.
I had a good deal with ATT w/a higher quality Nokia and was told about a
year ago I would have to switch to Cingular Wireless. I lost alot, i.e. my
free weekends and nights. I got a free Nokia (inferior quality) at a
Cingular store because I was told they were all out of the flip phones (yeah
right). I didn't believe that but didn't want to go to the hassel of coming
back to the store.
She said the web site is taken down which I will have to see to believe

Years ago ATT spun off their wireless division, and Cingular bought that.
Then Cingular got bought out by SBC, and now the ATT has bought SBC which
owns Cingular. And that means that everything is being rebranded to ATT.
However, it is not the ATT that cingular purchased, so nothing under the
old ATT wireless will exist.

And they probably were out of flip phones at the time. You did not need
to stay with that one store, you couold have gone to another store, or
asked to see other phones, or paid more for a better phone.

Which website? The cingular site has been changed and rebranded to ATT.
But not taken down.
The old ATT wireless is going away.
