Did you see all those idiots waiting in lines to spend 600 to 700
dollars? Weak-brained morons if you ask me. Plus iTunes subscription,
Plus cell phone subscription on a cat-**** slow network (At&t). You
    gotta be kidding.

You are correct,Officer Matthews! Add to the mix it will only run high
priced Road-Apple software, and everything will be the typical expen$ive
    add-ons.
Ever try to dial a touch-screen phone while driving? My PDA phone (Samsung
I-730) was like that. IMPOSSIBLE to place a call and drive a car at the same
time. Voicedial was a joke, had to shut off the radio, turn down or off the
A/C, roll up the windows and even then it made mistakes or just didn't work.
Plan on seeing lots of ICrap induced accidents soon, plus with the reflective
display it will be a joke in sunlight or brightly lit areas.
This Iphone is ICrap....a high-priced pile of dog****.

I strongly disagree. From my viewpoint it's the edge of the next
    generation of battery-efficient, multi-purpose phones. It's the
best mobile browser there is, and all other functions seem at
least equal to the state of the art.

I look forward to your opinion on battery efficiency when the iPhones
battery stops accepting a charge (as they all do eventually) and you have to
return it to Apple to have them put a new one in. Battery and SIM card not
accessible by the consumer, which also means my other GSM phones will no
longer be functional because I can't swap in the SIM... In this case the
impractical outweighs the bells and whistles.

It gets even better Ric, Add the fact it's based on EDGE technology, data
throughput will be like ****ting thru a sock!
    It will work, but poorly.
Add the fact of the internal battery, the reflective screen, the internal
SIM card and poor control in a truly MOBILE
setting and this is one expensive JOKE of a mobile phone. There are a ton of
    inexpensive MP3/MPEG4 players out there.
I don't need my "Phone" to do that.
I highly suspect this will be a very POOR performer in the RF dept, with
    it's internal antenna.Add to the fact it's on 1900Mhz
and it's VERY low power output it will be a real *STAR* in the AT&T store,
but will fall flat on it's face in public buildings.
When they demo these turds, it will be on Wi-Fi...to make it look real good,
don't be fooled. Performance will SUCK when it
    tries to connect on EDGE.

Cingular had to Grandfather my cheap, unlimited internet plan when instead
of upgrading my smartphone, I simply bought a Treo outright and made no
changes to my account. They pissed and moaned that I shouldn't have been
allowed to keep the unlimited internet at that low price because it was only
meant for small cell phones (read..a phone you don't want to view internet
pages on) and not for PDA's which would encourage me to actually use those
unlimited internet minutes. Fortunately, they couldn't do a thing about it
and I kept viewing web pages with my Treo on the cheap. Ultimately, I got
bored with the novelty and the slow speed...realized it was really more
gimmicky than useful and had them remove it from my plan. Of course, I'll
regret it if they ever do develop high speed wireless internet, but I
haven't seen a network or a device that makes me think it's worth the
trouble. I'm much more interested in the convergences devices to come. The
killer app for me would be network independent GPS...one that doesn't
    suck...we're not there yet.

Battery seems better than the 8525 for talk time and standby time
and the only innovation that I can really see is the video voicemail,
which is actually something on ATT's side. As far as other functions
being equal, it is not. It does not have a separate keyboard, it does
not have 3g capabilities, and I have no idea if the mobile browser is
best or not. And that really is a matter of opinion.
It is a gadget phone for the young, who want a ipod with a cell phone,
but do not want a true pda.
The on screen keyboard makes it almost worthless for texting, and the
keys on it are too small for alot of people to use. And the touch screen
is going to get filthy in a hurry, making it hard to see.
It strikes me as an overpriced toy for teens and early twenty somethings
It will be popular, of course, but a lot of buyers are going to be
    disappointed in it.

Why did you tell them? All you have to do is to buy a phone that is
either unlocked or branded to cingular/ATT and put the sim in.
    No need to tell anyone.

Since Cingular, Sprint and Verizon all offer highspeed wireless internet,
and have the devices to run on it, I fail to see what you are talking
about. I use an mda with ATT, the download speeds are somewhat slow, but
the truly big hassle is the fact that screen itself is too small for full
size web pages. And the Iphone's screen is not much bigger. To really view
the web, you need to have a laptop with a decent size screen.
