I have set up my CEO's phone to retrieve email via pop3 from our
exchange server using GPRS. All works fine whilst he is in the UK but
when he goes abroad email connectivity stops.
Our contract with 02 is set up for international roaming (including
GPRS). He has been to Spain, Portugal and Italy and has never had an
email through whilst in these countries - I set the mail server up on
the phone to be mail.ourcompanyname.com rather than the ip address -
not sure if this might be the problem (DNS?)
Anyone have any ideas on this one.

Does WAP work while he is abroad? Did you set the DNS server addresses?
