I recently bought a nokia 5070 and got a GPRS connection and am able
to
access the net via handset.
When I connect it to a PC with a CA 42 cable though I am able to
browse the phone memory , contacts etc however I am not able to
connect to internet.
With Nokia PC suite "One touch" says no modems found. No modems can
be
seen in device manager also. When I try to add phone/modem I can only
see a lot of bluetooth drivers but no cable drivers. Further no
drivers are available at Nokia or anywhere. There is absolutely no
response from Nokia.
What should I do. Is there a modem in the first place inside 5070.
Nothing is clear. I wish I had not gone for all this expenditure for
phone and connection.

Re: nokia pc internet connectivity
OK I finally solved it. Heres how:-
(a) Forget the nokia modems and PC suite
(b) Selecet the simple and standard 33600 modem. In the extra init
string put AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","putyourapnname"
(c) Verify that the modem responds by hitting the query modem button
(d) Start the new connection wizard and use the 33600 modem
(e) In the phone no put *99#
(f) Thats all
This simple thing took me 30 days to figure out.
Hope it is of some use to some one.
