Bluetooth plus addressbook which phone

Hi all

I'm looking for a new (CDMA) cellphone to replace my old Sony Ericsson
Z600. I want a bluetooth phone but I also want a phone that will allow
me to store addresses in the phone book. It's such a pita having to
have a separate address book when my bloody phone should be able to do
it. I'm not sure about elsewhere in the world but the telco retail
shops in NZ are staffed by nongs and there is no such thing as try
before you buy - basically they have dummy phones so you can look at
the pretty exterior but there's no way to know what you're getting on
the inside (apart from the specs which only tell part of the story).
My girlfriend tells me her previous Kyocera phone could store
addresses but I haven't seen any Kyocera mobiles in the shops. Is
there such a thing anymore as a phone that can store address info
instead of just numbers. I don't want to spend an extra $300 just to
buy a low-end PDA so I can store addresses.

Thanks

Which carrier are you with, Dave. That's very important.
Verizon, for instance, turns off most all BT functions leaving
only handsfree and headset protocols so you don't connect it to
your laptop, which they want to sell you an aircard for.

Alltel's BT works with BT Dun well to my laptop and Nokia N800
internet tablet. Some have said Sprint does, too, but I have no
first-hand knowledge of it.

For a good address book, with proper syncing to your computer
address book, I think you're looking at a phone PDA.

Ok. I just returned a defective Motorola E815 to my CDMA
carrier, Alltel, here in the southeast USA and ended up with a
Motorola ROKR Z6M, a beautiful new slidephone with 2 megapixel
camera, great MP3 player and lots of other toys. FINALLY a
cellphone that plays LOUDLY!

I just looked at the contact list on it in response to your post
and it DOES store postal addresses. The field list for each
entry is:
First Name
Last Name
Nickname
PHone number
Phone Number Type
Email address
Email address Type
Internet URL
Postal Address
Postal Address type
Contact Category
Ringer ID
Picture filename
Birthday
Notes (anything you want, quite long.)

The contact list entries are longer than the PDA I used to carry!

ROKR Z6M is new and I'm warming up to it not being the flipphone
I loved. There's a lock slideswitch on the side so locking the
exposed buttons is really easy, if you can remember. The camera
got selected in my pocket and I have a great, high resolution
picture of my keys...(c; I must remember to lock it....

That's cool, thanks Larry I'll check it out.
