Taking Larry to the next level...

Here's your next toy for when you tire of the Nok N800...

http://eeepc.asus.com

A tiny Linux-based "laptop" that can optionally run WinXP instead.
Configurations will run $299-499, but te first one was released Nov. 1st
for $399. Uses a low-power 900MHz Intel Celeron, 4GB flash storage
instead of a hard-drive, Wi-Fi, 3 USB ports, SD slot, and includes Skype
and Firefox pre-installed.

I may have to tell Santa I've been a good boy this year...

And yet you want him to punish you with a PC from 10 years ago?

Sure, given the form factor. A modern smartphone is an amazing device
because of the power it packs into a tiny space, but it too only has the
computing power of a decade old PC.

I abhor taking a laptop on trips, but the Asus wouldn't be bad to pack,
and costs a 1/3 of what a "real" UMPC costs. When I'm not traveling, my
3 year-old could beat on it rather than our real computers!

Wonder which Linux it uses....?? It doesn't say on the webpages
anything about the OS or its support. There's lots of Linux
versions. Asus has been around a long time. It might make money
when it runs native WinVista or XP.

It's just another small laptop, not an internet tablet device.
It's too big to carry.
