What's a cheaper rate to call cell phones in Europe from my PC?

Yahoo Messenger charges 15 to 27 cents to call most countries in
Europe from my computer. That's too expansive for me. Looking
for cheaper rates. Thanks in advance for sharing information.

No go. One of the European revenue enhancements is to charge the CALLER to
use the SELLphone of the Callee, a shared expense ponzi scheme to extract
money from both of them, increasing revenue per minute.

Even some landline phones have this scam attached to them if you call.

That's the difference in rates Yahoo must charge you. Wait until he gets
on Yahoo or Skype or some other VoIP you can use for free, bypassing this
scam entirely.

You shouldn't forget that the callee in most of Europe does not pay
airtime charge, as he would in the US. So there is no money extraction
from the callee.

Caller wants to call, caller pays. What's wrong with that?

I simply use my mobile phone instead. It's cheap enough for me.

Is there a reason why you must use you PC to make calls?

and get the people you are calling to hang up and call you back
at the local landline number your call appeared to come from. The
call will be free of long distance charges, and people with
European mobile phones can often make local outbound calls for
signficantly less than it costs you to call them from overseas.

Of course if they don't want to call back, or if their mobile phone
plan is such that it costs as much for them to call locally as it
costs you to call them, then you're screwed. It costs a lot to
phone European mobile phones from outside the country.

Caller wants to call, callee wants to answer, both pay their bit. What's
wrong with that?

What's wrong with the other way is that it gets the economic incentives
wrong (as is suggested by the fact that doing it your way usually requires
the involvement of some government agency to "control" the inbound
prices, a sure sign that something is screwed up). Phone companies
should make all their money from their own customers, who have the choice
to leave them and go elsewhere if they feel overcharged, not by charging
other companies' customers, who have no choice and hence no vote
about those rates.
