Hi, I was wondering if some of you out there have heard of a phone
provider called Amp'd mobile and might be able to help me out. My
contract with cingular is expiring at the end of the year and I'm
looking into changing up my carriers. I went to www.ampd.com and I'm
intrigued. I hear they're going to have tons of content available and
they're phones look pretty sweet (and reasonable, too, at $100)
Has anyone heard anything about them? Thanks.

I don't think that they're going to survive. Their web site is so poor
that no one will wait that long to see what their products are.

I've heard of spammers who claim to be asking a question about some
questionable web site or product while slipping in all sorts of flattery
and praise for the product, while they're really just spamvertising the
product.

My thoughts on the original post as well. I tried to go to their web
site anyway, but gave up. Even with DSL it was clear that it was going
to take several minutes to load, can you imagine someone with dial-up
trying to go that site?

well, i would prefer a smartphone, to do what ever you want, instead of
relying on carrier to offer you contents

I got an Amp'd phone. It's good, the coverage is better than Cingular Wireless and you don't have to deal with Cingular Wireless Customer Care.

The website takes like 2 seconds for me to load. Im thinking about getting and ampd mobile phone by the end of the year. You can do all kinds of crazy on those phones.

Re: Have any of you heard of Amp'd Mobile???
Ampd is excellent. I was an indirect agent and learned about the phones and they are basically, better verizon phones when it comes down the the amount of content available and the fact that they run on verizons huge network.
The site looks great to me though, although they should put more info out in the open to avoid the numerous reposts of these basic questions.
I just switched to ampd from verizon to save money and because with my chocolate phone i was getting 1 bar where the ampd phones got 3...the chocolate is not good for reception and is always going between 1-3 bars if any at my house, its quite odd. Works everywhere else I have been though.
anyway, ampd is new, excellent cheaper verizon service with much more to offer. They have been expanding huge amounts. They intend to have 10x more locations within the next 2 years! and have been selling quite well in all stores, much better than compaired to other newly started phone services such as disney, and helio.
Hope this helped you all!
