Amp’d is jumping into the market with the tried and true 99 cent price scheme, including those snazzy dual
downloads — phone and computer — that Sprint was so hyped about. They’re only offering up 200,000 songs, and apparently
they scored the same raw deal with the labels for song royalties that Sprint got, which is to say, a $1.25 per purchase
is going to the suits. Meaning either Amp’d is hoping to make it all back in wireless data costs, which is unlikely for
an MVNO, or this deal, which launches with
the carrier on December 15th, won’t be around for long.
