Hi everyone, up until now I have had nothing but great things to say about ampd. I have never had anything but small little problems which they have always fixed for me. My last problem actually ended up with me getting a free RAZR from them which they were in no way responsible for giving me.
I realized my problem today when I tried to get my service switched off my Hollywood over to my new RAZR. I called to request the
ESN change which I was unable to do because of an overdue balance, this was my fault though. I had to let it lapse because I have been short on cash after the holidays. I was then informed that my overdue balance was 74.07, No problem, I had downloaded some games and stuff so I understood this. I was then informed that my bill for December in addition to my November bill was $573.01!!! I 'believe it, but I had to run to work so I couldn't think about it at the time.
When I got home I went online and looked it over quickly and was surprised to have charges for calls on weekends, I thought they were free! They don't mention anywhere that they are not and since every other provider gives them to you it didn't make sense to me which I explained to them and they agreed and said they were sorry and sent in a form to the finance department but didn't really have high expectations that I would get my money back.
Later I was chatting with my friend who is planning on signing up with ampd soon, explaining to him what happened. I then started adding up the minutes myself.
Total: 1980 for two months (I have a 1000 a month plan)
First month: 770 minutes were used meaning:
I only went over by 210 minutes and was charged: $422.55!!!
( they are only supposed to charge you $.45 for each minute over )
So right there it was double what I should have been, then I noticed the times on the calls. The reason for my high minutes was because I spent hours on hold with the air port because I live in Denver and I was trying to get home for the holidays and we had 2 big blizzards in one week, causing wait times to be hrs!.
Well just in the December month I had 599 minutes that were after 7pm that I was being charged for, so even without the weekends being free I only used:
1210 - 599 = 611 minutes!
I am being charged hundreds of dollars for using 389 minutes below my plan! now I got to wait two weeks for the financial department to get this fixed because they made such a HUGE mistake that regular reps cant do anything with it.
oh and also I see that they charged me 7.25 for one of my text messages, my text messaging is unlimited and free and only .25 for a picture message.
Hopefully they fix the problem now because I called in again with all these numbers and explained to them their huge mistake. I hope ampd helps me out like I'm used to or they are definitely gonna be running into some problems. I will post what the resolution comes out to for you guys, but regardless, such a huge billing mistake should never be made EVER!
