iPhone to be With AT&T For Five Years Exclusively

The latest news on the iPhone: The carrier exclusivity agreements states that the it will be locked into AT&T for 5 years. This means that apple won't even be able to make a CDMA version of the phone till at least 2012. At the same time Verizon is claming to be working on an iphone killer. According to Denny Strigl, Verizon CEO, "We do have a very good response in the mill. You'll see that from us in the late summer."

sounds good to me! they really should support more providers before selling the iphone

ok this is the thing the only reason that at&t can only have exclusively cause it has an agreement. but 5 years from now no one will want one any more. oh and the verizon killer the LG is a peace of crap. ive seen the device dont buy it its going to be more expensive then the iphone and less features.

The iPhone will be released on Rogers in Canada on June 29th as well.

I hat jumping from provider to another provider. But i guess thats the way its gonna go for the next decade or so.

Apple approached Verizon first with an exclusive deal.

Verizon told Apple: "SORRY, NOT INTERESTED."

One of Apple's many ridiculous terms was that the carrier with an exclusive has to sell 20 million of these turkeys. Verizon's management was much smarter than AT&T's.
