Waited in Line for Nothing

As it turns out, the folks waiting in line for up to 5 days in the rain and heat wasted their time. The Apple Store here in New York, still had iPhones remaining for most of Saturday, so there was no need to wait in line.

Re: Waited in Line for Nothing

Some got paid for waiting in line. One guy sold his place on line for several hundred dollars. Some put their second iPhone on e Bay for charity, but mostly those waiting have nothing better to do; they need to get a life. I have been playing with the i Phone for a while at the Apple Store. It's a great toy( lots of fun), but except for the touch screen, there is nothing sensational about it. I am turned-off by the expensive AT & T contract you must purchase and the expense and bother of returning the phone when the battery life runs-out. The slow internet of the EDGE Network is also a turn-off.

OLD technology wrapped up with a brand new bow and hyped as something special.

Steve Jobs may be a marketing genius for getting people hyped up about paying big bucks for yesterday's technology with a new look, but this iPhone is nothing special.

Imagine all these people a year from now with dead cell phone batteries they can't replace in their expensive Apple iToy.

As I stated before, the only special feature is the touchscreen. The Internet is too slow, similar to dial-up but worse.

Shulman, you're exactly right. The iPhone is special because it was made by Apple and has a touchscreen. Everything else about it isn't worth talking about.
