Default 100 million 8Gb flashchips ordered
by jeni_fini 04-14-2009, 06:07 AM

It is rumored that Apple is placing large orders of NAND chips which will supposedly threaten the supply in demand with other tier-one vendors. DigiTimes is reporting orders of "100 million 8Gb (gigabit) NAND flash chips and most of them will be with Samsung Electronics." The memory chips are then recombined during manufacturing into the larger 16GB, 32GB, and so on.
