well hit the voicemail option on your phone... you wont have visual voicemail so when you hit the screen key... it should dial your ST voicemail and you can see whether you have any or not...

As for the unlockable... i didn't unlock... just jailbroke my phone... technically you dont even have to do that if you are happy with just voice and txting... if you want data just install the APN carrier file thats posted on here and viola you get data/internet... MMS requires jailbreaking and etc

I wish i had one of the two to try it with... they more i tinker with my friends droid phones the more i want one... not sure about editing carrier info... never really even looked into it since I dont have a droid to play with...

I played a bit with a windows 7 phone a few days ago and I found it rather compelling. Unlike Android which is basically a knockoff of the iphone in terms of UI, W7 phone takes a whole different approach - and I found it compelling.

Back to the iphone and ST. Let's say I make the changes to the iphone to run ST, and for some reason I wanted to go back to using ATT, what would you have to do to reverse those setting. Easy enough to change the sim, but how would you reset the carrier settings?

all you would need to do is put your ATT sim in and connect to ITUNES... it should detect it... if not... you can get the ATT carrier files off of the net fairly easy...

I've ordered a Nokia e71 from ST and will be trying out the switch as soon as I get it.

So everything here has pretty much been about Straight Talk.
What about Tracfone?
I have iphone 2g and have had t-mobile forever, but now I have no income and I qualify for safelink wireless which is a so many minute a month free version of tracfone.
They give you a free phone and sim with it.
I'd really like to use it on my iphone.
I know they lock to the phone that you activate them too, but If I initially register it with my iphone will it work? Will it still recharge the minutes normally?

finally jailbroke my 3g 4.2.1
ive went into cydia and downloaded winterboard and searched for supreme preferences and all i can find is Supreme Gruppled but it wont let me install it. im lost lol

Samuel mine was simple for the mms. I purchased swirleymms from cydia when i hacked my iphone 3g so all i did was got to the settings in swirleymms and input the info you supplied in an earlier post and hit save and walllaaa it works every time for mms ! Thank you for the good info !! Oh by the way Im on os 4.1 baseband 6.15.00.

Supreme preferences is no longer. Gone in 09 according to my research. Easy fix is to purchase swirleymms from cydia store and input the settings from samuels earlier post and it works.

do you have to go in the app all the time to send and recieve messages ? before i pay the 12 bucks i need to know i can send and recieve mms through the text now app and i dont like it .lol

Heres how I do mms. If I want to send a mms I go to the swirlymms icon and enter the app to send the mms. If I want to send text only I go to the messages icon and send the text. I also have tlert. If someone texts me then it pops up on the lock screen and I can reply from there after unlocking the phone. I am relatively new to the iphone fad and am still learning all this stuff. Im just letting you know what is working for me and so far its not too much aggrevation to mms pics and stuff. Cydia has several apps that will probably do a better job if you are a megammstexter but I havent tried them so Im not sure. !! Also I just found out if someone sends me a mms it alerts me with a sound and then I have to go to swirlymms to get the mms.

It has a trial period to see if you like it.

wayback when there was a flaw on iPhone and iPad using simple webpage, running Cydia. But Apple had this addressed immediately.
