iphone not working

My cell phone screen went white with a gray square on it;how can i fix it?
My phone died one day while i was at work and when i finally got in the car and plugged it in to charge i turned it on and the home screen went white with a gray square..the phone works perfectly its just the home screen. Im annoyed by it. Does anyone know how i can fix this?
