Incoming text problems

So I recently went to Telus and bought an Iphone, I use to have an LG Rumour under Bell so when I asked them to keep my phone number i gave them my phone's account number than the guy said after a couple hours the port to the new phone would be completed but until than ingoing and outgoing would be wonky and they would go to my old phone.

Well, 4 hours later, after I received a text saying that the number transfer was completed my incoming texts are still weird. One of my friends has been able to text my new iphone but 2 of my friends can't all there texts go to my old LG rumour which shouldn't have any money left on it cause it's a prepaid phone that was empty :S.

What's going on here should I just wait a day or two and it will fix itself, or is it something else.

Also is there any particular reason why one persons phone would have trouble texting someone elses phone? On my old Rumour one of my friends wouldn't be able to text mine ever now and than.

I'd give them 12-24 hours. If it's not straightened out by then, I'd be on their asses like a cheap suit. It's their job to make it work, and there ain't much you legitimately can do.

thats what I thought I should do but I wanted to check it out here and make sure there was nothing I could do on my own

Any improvement on the wonky text front?

On the persistance problem here... I wonder if the friends whose texts go to your old phone are on your old network/carrier. That would make me think that maybe the change did not propagate into that network as it should. Do voice calls from those numbers reach you OK?

I guess i should of been a bit more patient, but telus shouldn't of texted me before the transfer was 100% done.
