Lost Internet; got "E" instead of 3G

Suddenly, I was disconnected from the internet on my iPhone 3Gs. The screen showed 4 bars from AT&T, so I knew that I was getting a signal. Nothing would load;not You Tube, not Facebook, etc. I tried re-booting the phone by shutting it down. I tried this twice but to no avail. The screen still showed "E" instead of 3G and I got no data. What happened?

I get that once in a while, too. I suspect issues with AT&T's network. It generally goes back to 3G within an hour or so.

Now, I get the 3G symbol, but the web doesn't load; it just says "Loading". I had to turn all power-off and start-up which is time consuming. Is this common to iPhone users? It happens to me about twice a week.Does it happen to users of other brands as well? Is it the fault of AT&T or the phone itself?

I think most iPhone users have ran into this problem and it usually is fixed quickly, I have turned my phone completely off and then on again and it fixed the problem. Also a tip while at stadiums or arenas and you want to use the internet, turning your phone to E works so much better then trying the 3G.
