Obviously to silence the iPad one slides the volume control to its minimum point and that should silence the device completely. Unfortunately - it doesn't. Many apps still have the gall to sound off at will - such as the Xfinity app when you click on "watch" within the app. When laying beside someone trying to sleep - this makes a very loud notification confirming activation which the default volume does not silence. Does anyone know of a means of actually muting this device - other than shutting it off?
