Need help with cell phone service/phone

Hello,

I just moved to San Jose, CA from Florida and need some help choosing a new service provider and phone. I had a ATT Pick Your Plan Pre-paid service in Florida with an old Nokia, but I am looking to change to regular contract service. I would like to know:

1. Of all the service providers, does ATT provide the best quality service (signal strength, clarity, calls not being dropped) in this area?

2. If not, which provider would you recommend?

3. I was looking at the ATT site, and was looking at buying the Sony Ericsson w300i, Nokia 6085, or Nokia 6126. Which do you think would be the best phone for making consistently clear calls?

I had at&t but switched to Verizon just because I could never get any signal wherever I went.

It does depend on the specific area. When I've been to the SoCal region, I have had very good luck with AT&T. YRMV.
