Is there any way I can set my phone to have that message for a short time when I choose even though my bill is paid in full? It makes me feel so important!!!

yeah you can suspend your phone at any time through your online account, call through the automated system and report it as lost or stolen or call and ask someone to do it, while its suspended it will give a recording that you're not accepting calls.

I don't think that is something you want on your phone because it will make you look like an idiot because everyone will think you didn't pay your phone bill. All of my skanky friends have that as their message at least once a month, and trust me, it's not attractive.

Re: The person you are trying to reach is not accepting calls at this time

Ok so i can't answer the question but felt it would be pointless to start a new topic when my concern falls under this category. This is my question so please help me out.

I have called my friend's phone on several different occasions because they were coming home soon from being deployed. At first it would ring endlessly until I would get the "the person you are trying to reach is not accepting calls right now."..ok so...out of pure curiosity that perhaps I have done something to upset them and they blocked me...i used two of my friends' phones with different numbers...and they got the exact same thing but no ringing.

Again my curiosity got the best of me...i called from my number unblocked because I have nothing to hide...goes straight to a busy tone?

Whats going on because he doesnt even know my friends and no im not a stalker...just a concerned best friend who might have left 2011 on bad terms with that individual unfortunately...trying to fix it. but they would have no reason to block my friends because they dont know them at all.

thank you in advance for the helpful replies.

If you have a verizon phone, and you call an ATT phone who has blocked your number, will you hear an error message?

I also have the same problem and I have called off another number and got the same answer, so I'm assuming I haven't been blocked. Is the only other explanation when this happens just an unpaid bill? (and a stolen/lost phone but that seems unlucky since they always keep theirs close to them.)

    Thank you,
    -Victoria.

Ok. So I tried using someone else's phone when i was having this problem, and the person i had called, the call went straight to voicemail. So does this mean that MY number is blocked???

Re: The person you are trying to reach is not accepting calls at this time

This is a general response to one of the messages above. When someone is internationally roaming they might turn off voicemail to avoid international roaming charges when a ringing call is forwarded to voicemail. They do not pay for the ringing time unless they answer the call. If the call goes to voicemail after ringing in the foreign country, they would pay for at least one minute of the incoming call plus all the time spent in voicemail. If the telephone is on, you get the ringing. If the telephone is off or unreachable, you get the message.

I have been having the same problem, but its my roomate and i know their phone isnt cut off or roaming or dead or any of the other problems. We can both call other people and recieve calls but when we call each other it tells us "The person you are calling is not accepting calls right now." but we can both call and recieve calls from anyone else?! And both of our phones are paid, working fine, never blocked each others number or any of these excuses up here?
