Ok i recently purchased a nokia 7370 from a friend and it was an unlocked gsm phone, therefor it should work on at&t's network he said. Well i received the phone and i put my sim card in and it doesnt work. I then took it to at&t and the guy said the phone wont work here because it doesnt have some triband thing? I am from Wisconsin and i live in the northnorth woods

The phone does not have the 850 MHz band. Apparently in your neck of the woods, that frequency is used by the carrier. That area was formerly part of the Dobson which operated on 850 MHz. It has now been merged with AT&T Mobility. You need a phone with both 850 MHz and 1900 MHz for best service on the AT&T Mobility network.
