AT&T Asurion is a Rip Off

Do not do biz with AT&T and there 3rd party phone insurance carrier, they are a total rip off. I've been without a phone for 2 weeks now.
Verizon will replace your phone the very next day.

So what are the details of your having to get the new phone?

Lost, stolen or damaged and replacing with the SAME model of phone, or upgrading to a different phone than the one being replaced?

The phone you are getting, was it out of stock?
Was this phone gotten through a third party resaler vs a corp store?

I know when I have dealt with Asurion(sp) in the past, I had always gotten a replacement overnighted to me, no cost to me, other than the deductible. And the few times I had to wait longer than a day, were due to holidays or winter weather causing delivery problems.

I hate to tell you but Verizon uses Asurion for their insurance also.

at&t is a rip off they charge me for minutes when the phone only rings so i would have to agree ...

That's pretty odd, what sort of plan do you have that they charge mins for just having the phone ring? I was with At&t from 1992 until the second week of Aug 2008, had a few different plans, including the original GoPhone plan. I never was charged mins, unless the phone was answered by me or when forwarded to an answering machine so it would not go to voice mail when I was expecting an important call.

They charge you for outgoing calls which last more than thirty seconds. All major wireless carriers bill that way. Long distance carriers for landlines do the same thing. This is because they do not have answer supervision on the destination end of the call. So if the phone rings twenty seconds and there is no answer, hangup and call again. If the person answers after long ringing, the ringing time is included in the call time.
